By using driving training simulators based on virtual reality systems, the user is placed within a simulated driving environment in a way that creates a strong sense of presence in a real-world setting. This sense of presence is achieved through user interaction with the environment and immersion within it. Interaction refers to the two-way relationship between the user and the environment, in which the user influences the environment and the environment, in turn, affects the user. Immersion means that the user reaches a level of sensory engagement in the virtual environment that evokes the feeling of being present in a real setting. In this state, although the user is physically located in a virtual environment, their reactions to the surroundings are natural and consistent with real-world behavior.

In the hazard perception test, the driver’s reactions are evaluated under various traffic conditions, including encounters with other vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. In recent years, in some countries, hazard perception skills have been introduced as a mandatory and effective component alongside practical driving training (on-road driving tests) and traffic regulations education (theoretical exams). Studies conducted in these countries indicate the effectiveness of hazard perception training and testing.
Unfortunately, in our country, driver training is largely limited to vehicle operation, low-speed driving, and learning traffic regulations, and little attention has been given to hazard perception training.
