Driving Simulator

A Driving Simulator is a system that, through professional driving simulation, enables driver training and skill enhancement, improvement of traffic behavior, and behavioral attitude change for drivers and operators of various types of machinery. In a driving simulator, the user is exposed to a realistically simulated driving environment, creating a strong sense of presence similar to being in a real-world setting. This sense of presence is achieved through user interaction with the environment and immersion within it.

Although the user is technically operating within a virtual reality environment, their reactions to the simulated conditions are natural and closely resemble real-life responses. In fact, driving simulator systems provide users with the opportunity to experience realistic driving scenarios in a virtual yet safe environment, allowing for effective training and learning without exposure to real-world risks.

Establishment of the Professional Driving Simulator Center at the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization Research Center

Given the critical importance of enhancing road safety, improving driving quality, and changing drivers’ attitudes to reduce traffic accidents nationwide, the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, in cooperation with the knowledge-based company Nasir Simulator Tech. Co., has established a Professional Driving Simulator Center at the Center for Training Development, Studies, and Innovation of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, located at Kilometer 14 of the Fath Road.

This center provides the capability to conduct practical defensive driving courses, assess drivers’ hazard perception using simulator devices, simulate driving in near-accident scenarios, and offer driving training for beginner applicants. Overall, with a focus on accident reduction through skill enhancement and competency assessment of operators and drivers, this center can play an effective role in improving the quality of traditional training methods and represents a significant step toward achieving the Vision Zero goal.

Center Vision

This center is a successful achievement and model of multi-party interactive collaboration, built on trust in domestic capabilities and talents. Currently recognized as one of the largest and most comprehensive professional driving simulator centers in Iran, it hosts a wide range of simulator products for heavy vehicles, special-purpose vehicles, and light vehicles.

In the near future, road construction and earthmoving simulators will also be added to this center. Undoubtedly, it has the potential to become a professional hub for introducing this technology to stakeholder organizations and countries seeking to adopt such advanced simulation solutions.
